I think I am coming back from the brink ... only a few days after the Thirsk episode we were on holiday for a week in Mull. The whole trip was fantastic (in part due to taking up the challenge of following Ms & MS 's walks around North Mull) but some of the highlights were food based. If you're in Tobermory 'scallops and chips ' from the van on the sea front are amazing and if you go to Mull spend the extra £5 on the one minute ferry to Ulva ... not only is the Island a wonderful place to find food (we collected Mussels to cook that night) you can also buy some of the best oysters and scallops tasted in the UK at the small cafe by the Ferry. So thanks to the 12 odd folk who live on Ulva for restoring my faith in rural UK food.
